About Me
Dr. Ahmad A. Oueini is Associate Professor of Education at the Lebanese American University (LAU), where he has served since 1997, and former Chairperson of the Department of Education. A licensed Educational Psychologist, he is also President of Alphabete Learning Center in Beirut, where he conducts psychoeducational assessments and designs evidence-based interventions for students with learning difficulties across Arabic, English, and French.
Dr. Oueini earned his Doctor of Education and multiple graduate degrees from Columbia University, with specialization in Psychological Counselling and Learning Disabilities. His research focuses on literacy development in Arabic and bilingual contexts, dyslexia, diglossia, teacher training, and inclusive education. He has published extensively in international journals and Routledge handbooks, presented at global conferences including IDA and BDA, and advised ministries and international organizations across the MENA region.
Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Dr. Oueini brings over three decades of academic leadership, clinical expertise, and regional policy engagement to the Nawat Advisory Board.
