About Me
Dr. Saleh Shaalan is the Director of Allied Health Services and Senior Scientist at a leading center for special education in the UAE, operated in partnership with an internationally recognized organization specializing in autism and related disorders. He previously held senior leadership roles within prominent regional and international institutions in the field of communication sciences and disorders.
Dr. Shaalan earned his PhD in Psycholinguistics and Child Language Disorders from University College London (UCL), UK. He completed his Master of Science degree and clinical training in Speech-Language Pathology at McGill University, Canada. He is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC), and the UK’s Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and he is licensed by the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi. He is also a founding member and former Vice President of the Emirates Speech-Language Pathology Society.
Dr. Shaalan has led the development of multiple Arabic assessment and screening tools for a range of speech and language disorders, widely utilized by clinicians and researchers across the region. He has presented at numerous local and international conferences and has served on the scientific committees of several professional meetings. His research has been published in international
peer-reviewed journals, and he has authored two book chapters published by international academic publishers.
