About Me
Dr. Yousuf Rashid Salem Almurtaji is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the Department of Psychology, College of Basic Education, Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Kuwait. He holds a PhD from the University of Surrey, UK, and two Master’s degrees from the Universities of Surrey and Nottingham. His academic and research work focuses on educational psychology, behavioural difficulties, individual differences, academic achievement, psychological and educational assessment, counselling, motivation, learning, and student development.
Dr. Almurtaji has published extensively in Arabic and international peer-reviewed journals, with research addressing behavioural and emotional factors in learning, academic resilience, motivation, executive functions, self-regulated learning, and educational achievement among students in Kuwait and the wider Arab context. He has also contributed to numerous conferences, professional committees, training workshops, and community initiatives, bringing together strong academic expertise and practical experience in education, psychology, and student support.
As a member of the Advisory Board of Nawat Training, Dr. Almurtaji contributes valuable regional expertise in educational psychology, research, assessment, and teacher development, supporting Nawat’s mission to advance high-quality professional training in learning difficulties and related educational fields.
