About Me
Prof. Moayyad Homidi is a Professor of Special Education at the Arab Open University – Jordan Branch, and Head of the Training & Community Service Center. He is an experienced academic leader with a distinguished track record in higher education, research, and policy advising across the Arab region.
He previously served as Adviser to the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at the University of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (2017–2023), and as Adviser to the Minister of Education in the United Arab Emirates for four years.
Prof. Homidi holds a Ph.D. in Special Education (AAU, 2010) and an M.A. in Communication Disorders & Speech Therapy (University of Jordan, 1995). His scholarly interests include Learning Disabilities, ADHD, inclusive education, autism, assistive educational technology, and AI applications in education.
He has also served on international scientific committees (including Cambridge University EAET 2024 and Abu Dhabi University ICEDU 2024), and delivered keynote lectures at international forums, including AidEx Geneva (2024) and Ruhr University Bochum (2022).
He served as Chair of the International Conference on Bridging Horizons (ICBH 2025), held in Amman and jointly organized by Abu Dhabi University and the Arab Open University.
Prof. Homidi is an active member of regional and international professional associations, including ABAI (USA), the Saudi Society for Special Education, and the Princess Taghreed Center for Assessment & Evaluation. His work consistently bridges research, teaching, and academic leadership to advance inclusive, evidence-based, and innovative education.
